Expected around November 2011, the Kia K9 will be the true successor to the Opirus in South Korea as Kia's top model, and extend their K5 - K7 line. It should share the same "German" look, thanks to chief designer Peter Schreyer.
From a branding point of view, this simplification makes perfect sense following the union with Hyundai.
